John C. Bullivant, age 80, of 3589 West Avenue, died at Schuyler
Hospital in Montour Falls on Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
John was born in the Town of
Covert on
September 21, 1929, a
son of the late John C. and Frances (Dimmick) Bullivant. He was a
graduate of
Interlaken
High School
and proudly served his country in the US Army from 1948 to 1952. He
enjoyed a 33 year career at Seneca Army Depot, retiring as a
demolition specialist. John was very supportive of his hometown, and
had been member of the Fire Department, American Legion and charter
member of the Sportsmen’s Club all of Interlaken.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia, and daughters, June
(Pete) Plumlee of Shawnee, OK, Cindy (Gary) Hurley of Ovid, and Peggy
(John) Terry of Interlaken, a son, Gary (Sandra) Reynolds of Watkins
Glen, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his siblings, Fred, Robert, Donny, Pete and Walt and by his
sisters, Kate and Marian.
The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00pm on Sunday, August
1, 2010, at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street, Ovid. The funeral
service will then immediately follow at 1:00pm, officiated by Rev.
Diane Walker of the Ovid Federated Church. Prayers of committal will
be held privately on Monday at Lake View Cemetery in Interlaken.
