‶Mary″ D❜Ambrosia Maria

Maria “Mary” D’Ambrosia, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 So. Main Street in Ovid. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Bernard Maloney, OFMCap, at 10:00am on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ovid. Prayers of committal will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester. Mary was born on March 12, 1921 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of the late Vincent and Antionetta (Leonardo) D’Ambrosia. Mary was a very kind and loving soul, playful and joyous like a child, yet sincere and appreciative of the loving care she has received over the years in her group homes. She was productive and thoughtful, and ever mindful of the fact that her family was always supportive and proud of even the smallest of achievements. Over the decades, the staff at her group homes became her everyday family, and she gave as much love as she received. She will be forever missed by many, as her glowing smile was unforgettable.

Mary is survived by her loving brother, George (Josephine) D’Ambrosia of Sarasota, Florida and her many friends and staff at Finger Lakes DDSO, and of course her loving cat, Minnie.
