Allan W. Jennings

Allan W. Jennings age 85, passed away at Pathway Homes in Seneca Falls on March 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 13, 1937 to the late Jesse and Marion (Landis) Jennings in Romulus, NY. A local Ovid/Romulus man he spent more than 30 years working for GTE Sylvania. He always planted a big vegetable and flower garden, had a roadside stand for many years and enjoyed sharing the harvest with family and friends. In the mid 60’s he planted a vineyard and sold grapes to Taylor Wine Co. for two decades. His favorite past time was fishing and he spent many days on Cayuga and Seneca Lake reeling in a catch.

He is survived by his children, Robert (Doris) Jennings, Edward (Sheryl) Jennings, Karen Jennings-Dix and Kay Jennings; 10 grandchildren, Peter (Donna) Jennings, Erin Jennings, Joseph Jacobs Jr. (April Stevens), Brian (Audrey) Jennings, Jason Jacobs, Jessica Gayhart, Tyler Jennings, Jenna Gayhart, Mackenzie and Madison Jennings; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Alberta (Updike) Jennings, daughter Mary Jennings, grandson Corey Dykes, son-in-law RC Dix, and his six siblings, Ronald and Robert Jennings, Elsie Symanski, Larry Jennings, Eleanor Snyder, and Barbara Elliotto.

Calling hours will be held at Covert Funeral Home on Wednesday March 8, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 am. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Mount Green Cemetery in Romulus after the service. The family invites you to the South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club after the burial.
