Bernard A. Langner, age 76, of 4024 County Road 141, died unexpectedly in Long Boat Key, Florida on Sunday, May 8, 2016
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street in Ovid. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, May 20, 2016 at St, Francis Solanus Church on Orchard Street in Interlaken. Prayers of committal will be held at St. Joseph❜s Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.

Bernie was born on May 18, 1939 in South Bend, IN to the late Anthony and Bertha Chavis Langner. He joined the US Army and found himself serving in the early years of the Vietnam Era, maintaining military aircraft. That training led to a job in Chicago, where he worked on the ground crew for USAir for 30 years. In 1994, he and his wife Susan, moved to Interlaken Beach. He enjoyed fishing for walleye and northern in South West Ontario, and Lake Erie. He was an avid Elvis Presley fan and in his youth, a proud owner of a Studebaker Golden Hawk and Avanti. He was a gentle soul who loved to laugh and was not afraid to laugh at himself and he will be sorely missed by everyone.
He is survived by his brothers; Daniel(Cindy) Langner of Hilton, NY and Gordon(Roberta) Langner of South Bend, IN,and nephews Gordon Jr. and Steven (Amy) also of South Bend IN. , his friend of 20 years and traveling companion Kathy Helfman and her family, George Helfman III, and Brad and George IV Helfman..
