A. Martz Carol

Carol Anne Martz (Satterly) passed away on August 18th at House of John, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness.

The family will be present to receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 So. Main Street, Ovid. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 4:00pm at the funeral home. Prayers of Committal will follow in Ovid Union. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, NY.

She was the wife of the late Elmer Ward Martz and is survived by her children, Lisa (Gary) Whitney, Michael Martz, Deanna (Bruce) Wilkes, Jeffery Martz, Kevin Martz, and Merideth (Thomas) Stanton. She is also survived by her grandchildren Siobhan, Matthew, Philip (Ashley), Brianna (Nate), Cody (Megan), Kyle, Grace, Elizabeth, Erick, Nick, and Jake. Also survived by her sisters, Joyce Roberts and Joan Johnson. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Anthony, Gabriella, and was looking forward to her third great grandchild in October.

Carol was a 1968 graduate from Romulus High School and CCFL nursing school. She was a long- time employee of Willard Psychiatric Center and the Dick VanDyke Center. She loved to travel, was an avid gardener, photographer, and chocolate maker. She was known as Mamma to all and had an open door to anyone.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Philip Breese Mayo, and husband of thirty-two years, Elmer Martz, her parents Grace (Smith) and Elwin Satterly and Brother Marvin (Elaine) Satterly.
