Pat was born on February 27, 1938 in Seneca Falls, a daughter of the late Emmett and Florence (Hufford) Smith. In 1957 she was married to Fran Steverson in South Carolina, while he was serving in the US Army. She worked at Willard Psychiatric Center for a number of years, before becoming a family care provider in their home. The Steverson❜s, along with their 4 daughters, hosted many clients in their home over the course of 35 years. Pat was an avid gardener, she loved reading and crossword puzzles. Pat and Fran, together with their daughters, traveled the New England countryside every autumn, had countless picnics and gatherings at Lodi Point and they spent summers at Eagleridge for over 30 years. Pat was a terrific cook and hands down, baked the best apple pies. For anyone that had the pleasure of spending time with Pat, one knew that her wit, humor and sarcasm were unparalleled. The sparkle in her eye was your sign that she was at her best!
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Fran; her daughters, Melanie (John) Jarvis of Sodus, NY, Kristen (Brad) Jennings of Lodi, Jennifer (Gary) Hauppa of New Windsor, MD; grandchildren, Nicholas (Megan) Peters, Austin and Dakota Jennings, Madeline and Jacob Hauppa, and Mathew Smith, great-granddaughter, Olivia Peters, a brother, Steven (Jeana) Smith, sister, Portia Cox, brother in law, Joe Witkouski, sister in law and best friend, Sally Smith, and by her beloved pets, Max and Sassy. Pat was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy in 1992, and by her brother David Smith and sister, Diane Witkouski.
