Alan B. Ike

SENECA FALLS - Alan B. “Opa” Ike, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side.

Alan was born in Waterloo on December 7, 1960, a son of the late Gary and Helene (nee Baker) Ike. He joined the USArmy in 1979, and after his 3-year enlistment spent several years in the Army Reserves, serving in Fort Riley, KS, Little Rock, AR and Indiantown Gap, PA. He had been a forklift operator for Liquid Products and Seneca Foods prior to his early retirement due to his cancer diagnoses. He was a fighter and battled 2 types of cancer over 40 years.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughter and beloved grandchildren and playing cards and corn hole with friends. He was an amazing father, husband, Grandpa “Opa”, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his life long wife of 36 years, Kelly VonBergen; daughter, Brook Ike, his best friend and granddaughter, Skyler Rose Ike; his little buddy and grandson, Brody Alan Ike; his siblings, Jennett Powers, Annett Salaksi, Brian (Pat) Ike, Dawn Ike, Gary Ike and Dolores (Harry) Morgan and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; his god daughter, Angela Anderson and god son, Alan Morgan.  Alan was preceded in death by his sister, Tracy Lee Ike and his parents.
