Arlo L. Johnson, age 81, formerly of Keady Road in Lodi, died at the home of his daughter at in Lyons on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at their home at 1177 State Route in Lyons on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from Noon to 4:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org or the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org in Arlo’s memory.

Arlo was born on October 26, 1941, a son of the late Danford and Calla Johnson and had graduated from Interlaken High School.  Along with his father, he worked the family farm in Lodi and grazed cattle at Hector Grazing. He loved horses and being outdoors, in his later years watching traffic.  He had worked at HB Fuller in Geneva and later retired from Borg-Warner Automotive in Ithaca. He was lovingly known as “Pops” by his family and closest friends, and his witty sayings were unforgettable: “Close enough for government work” seemed to fit most often.

He is survived by his daughter, Mikki (Michael Wollek) Snadeker;  grandson, Daniel Snadeker; Michael’s three children and their families; a brother, Robert Johnson of Savannah, NY and several nieces and nephews. Arlo was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon in 2010 and by is sister, Pearl White.
