Lloyd was born in Newark Valley, NY on March 2, 1924, a son of the late Clinton R. and Florence (Bean) Kenyon. He graduated from Ovid Central School, and at the age of 18, was enlisted in the US Army in 1943. Lloyd served in Germany in the Corps of Engineers, 82nd Engineer Combat Battalion, earning a Bronze Star for his heroic actions on April 15, 1945. Upon his return from WWII, he was married to Maxine ‶Mick″ VanNostrand on June 14, 1947. He was called back to duty in 1950, and served his country again during the Korean Conflict, returning home as Staff Sergeant in 1952. Lloyd had a long career at Willard Psychiatric Center as a fire and safety officer. Lloyd and Maxine had started their family with sons, Larry and Greg, and together, they operated Kenyon Florist and Greenhouse. Over several years, the business grew and expanded, becoming a regional source for the retail customers and wholesalers. After many years of hard work and long days, they retired the floral business in the mid 1970❜s. At that point, Lloyd and Mick were able to travel extensively, and always attended military reunions of the 82nd Combat Battalion throughout the US. His hard work didn❜t end however, in addition to operating an excavating business and splitting firework, he impeccably maintained his home. Lloyd was a proud supporter of South Seneca sports, and was able to follow multiple generations of family and friends at Falcon events. His pride was obvious in recent years, as he followed his three grandchildren in all of their school and sporting functions.

Lloyd is survived by his son and daughter in law; Greg and Mary of Ovid; their children, MacKenzie, Matthew and Allison; nephew, Denny (Karen) Kenyon of Ovid, and his extended family, to include the VanNostrands. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Maxine ‶Mick″ in 2014; his son, Larry ‶Champ″ Kenyon in 2012 and by his brothers and sisters in law, Neil and June Kenyon, Lowell and Jean Kenyon and by a sister, Dorla Gray.
