B. ‶Pete″ Smith Robert

Robert B. “Pete” Smith, 70, of Medina, NY, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2015 at his home.
Born on June 8, 19444 in Clifton Springs, NY, he was the son of the late Robert T. and Fredrika Mae (Wright) Smith.

Pete worked various jobs including, being a grounds keeper at Willard State Hospital, ABEX of Medina and lastly, at Schwab’s Farm Market in Gasport, NY. In his spare-time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.

He is survived by his brother, Stephen (Nancy) Smith of Knowlesville, NY; two sisters, Linda (Walt) Smith of Hamlin, NY, Beverly (Winfield) Delong of Interlaken, NY, children, Jennifer Wannike of Kings Mountain, NC, Bernie Helsdon of Medina, Billy Helsdon of Green Bay, WI, Cheryl Lynn Helsdon of Albion, Ronald and Roger Helsdon, both of Medina and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a sister, Shirley McMillan and a niece, Laurie Vanzille.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Covert Funeral Home, 7199 So. Main Street in Ovid from 11:00am to Noon, words of committal will immediately follow at West Lodi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pete’s name to: Hospice of Orleans Co.
