Barbara A. (Bowles) Mccall

Barbara A. McCall, age 87, longtime resident of First Street, died on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Barb was born in Camden, NJ on October 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Herbert J. and Anne A. (nee Morton) Bowles. She moved to the Ovid area in the late 60’s from Colorado, and she earned her nursing degree from CCFL, and then had a long career at Geneva General Hospital as an RN. She was a vital part of South Seneca Ambulance, having served in many capacities over 40 years.  She was an EMT, critical care tech, taught lab courses, served on the board in various capacities and retired in 2013 with a commendation from New York State. In her retirement she served as President of the Seneca County Board of Health, was elected to Romulus Town Council and served on the Romulus Zoning Board.

Barb is survived by her children; Michael (Cheryl) Peregoy and Charlotte Snyder all of Fort Collins, CO, Charlene VanHorn of Willard, Shari (Carl) Pollock of Palm Harbor, FL, Timi (Steve) McCall-Caskey of Huntsville, AL; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
