Beverly A. Cowan, age 78, of Ovid passed away peacefully in Rochester surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
The family will be present to receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the Ovid Federated Church, 7137 Main Street, Ovid. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 4:00pm at the church, officiated by Pastor Rob Mellgard. Bev was born in Seneca Falls on November 23, 1943, a daughter of the late Floyd and Florence (Braisington) Swick. She was employed at Willard Psychiatric Center as an LPN for many years. After retiring from Willard, Bev worked at Romulus School as a Kindergarten teacher’s aide assisting with the reading program, a job that brought Bev great joy. She will be remembered most for her enduring love, warm smile, timeless beauty, phenomenal hugs, and infectious personality. She lived every day with a caring heart, open arms, abundant optimism, and a little sparkle.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Arthur Cowan; children, Tomilyn (Jim) Knittle Petris, KelliJo Knittle, Scott Knittle, Kristen (Dennis) Cowan Jacot, and Michelle (Shawn) Cowan Hall, three fur babies, ChuChu, Jeter, and Molly; nine grandchildren, Ashley (Doug) Sponseller, Chelsea (Ed) Notebaert, Niki (Josh) Smith, Kyle Petris, Martin Jasniewski, Shawn Hall, Gianni Hall, Gage Jacot, and Ella Jacot; five great grandchildren, Henry, Harper, and Hudson Sponseller, Kassidy Notebaert, and Elon Smith; sister, Kay Poth; niece, Kimberlee Poth McKee; nephew, Wayne (Candi) Poth, along with their families. In addition to her parents, Bev was preceded in death by the father of her eldest children, Tom Knittle; brother, Robert Swick; and sister, Jane Swick.
