Brenda S. Griffin, born on November 23, 1958, in Penn Yan, NY, passed away on January 15, 2025, at Strong Hospital. Brenda's journey through life was marked by dedication and service, both in her career and her community.
Brenda attended grade school in Interlaken and proudly graduated from South Seneca High School in 1976. Following her education, Brenda embarked on a remarkable professional journey that spanned over several decades. She retired from the Five Points Correctional Facility in 2020, where she had devoted more than 21 years of her life to state service. Prior to this, Brenda had transferred from Willard DTC, and she also contributed nearly ten years of her career at the Seneca Army Depot.
In addition to her professional achievements, Brenda was an active member of her community. She was involved with the American Legion Post 462 Ladies Auxiliary, the Interlaken Fire Department Auxiliary, and the Interlaken Reformed Church. Her commitment to these organizations reflected her deep-seated values of service and community involvement.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Janet Griffin of Montour Falls, as well as her nephew, Joshua (Sarah) Griffin of Hartsdale, NY, and her niece, Angela Reilly of Seneca Falls. She also leaves behind her great-nephew, Liam Reilly, and her great-niece, Olivia Reilly, her beloved dog, Teddy, along with several cousins and a host of near and dear friends who will remember her fondly.
Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Michael R. Griffin, and her father, Robert Griffin and her cherished dogs Chloe and Napoleon . In honoring her wishes, there will be no services held. Kindly consider a donation in Brenda's memory to the ASPCA
