Bruce W. Walborn, age 70, lifetime resident of Lodi, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 1, 2022.
The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. A graveside service will immediately follow at West Lodi Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Rob Mellgard of Ovid Federated Church. Bruce was born in Waterloo on July 17, 1952, a son of the late Richard C. and Seraphia “Sophie” Walborn. He was a member of the South Seneca Class of 1970, a longtime member of the Lodi Fire Department (former assistant chief) and South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club. Bruce had retired from NYS DOT after more than 33 years of service as an equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; his son, Timothy Doane III of Lodi; his siblings, Judy David of Lodi, Richard M. Walborn of Anaheim, CA, Edward R. Walborn of Lodi and his sister in law, Wanda Cusimano of Pittsford; his wife’s siblings, Sally Spencer of Auburn, Everett Babcock of Ovid, Cheryl Babcock of Willard, Anne (Frank) Pinette of North Carolina, Dawn (Rich) Smith of Interlaken, Roy (Michelle) Babcock of Waterloo, and a brother in law, Ron Spencer of Union Springs and their families; his nephews- Jeff David and his children, Kiarah, Barrett, and Brody, Jason David and his daughter, Allie, a niece, Joann and her children, Ian and Ben. Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers, Don and David Cusimano and brother-in-law, Marty David and sister in law, Tina Westfall and his wife’s parents, Everett and Josetta Babcock.
