C. Simmons David

David C. Simmons, age 56, died at his home in Verona Village on Monday, October 3, 2016, following an extended cancer illness.

He was born in Wareham, Massachusetts on February 27, 1960, a son of Charles E. and Jane (Adams) Simmons Jr. He was a lifetime carpenter and landscaper, working with his hands and enjoying the flexibility of being self-employed.

David was a very private person, and requested that there be no funeral service. Kindly remember him with a warm smile, and perhaps consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, in his memory.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 12 years, Shirley; his mother, Jane Lopresti of Carver, Mass; his siblings, Ginny (Phil) Strout of Plymouth, Mass, Charlene Harris of Trumansburg, and Curtiss Simmons of Trumansburg; his stepchildren, Keith (Renate) Cooper of Nuremburg, Germany Kevin (Kristin) Cooper of Frisco, TX and Kurt (Linda) Cooper, of Geneva, NY; 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his father, and by his sister, Autumn.
