Crystal M. "Shell" (Meeks) Houseknecht

Crystal M. “Shell Meeks" Houseknecht, age 41, died peacefully in Willard at the home of her sister, on Monday, November 28, 2022, following a recent cancer illness.

A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:00 on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Lakeview Cemetery in Interlaken, officiated by Pastor Tim Dean.  Kindly consider a donation in Shell’s memory to William Houseknecht, for the benefit of their children.

Shell was born in Gainesville, Florida on February 23, 1981, and has lived in the Ovid area for the past 20 years. She received her associates degree from Colorado Technical University and had last worked at the Ginny Lee Café in Lodi.

She is survived by her children, Hailey and Gracie Houseknecht and their father William “Bucky “ Houseknecht of Interlaken; her mother, Bonnie (Steve Burt) Castor of Rochester; her siblings, Willis (Casey) Meeks of Willard, Mack (Sarah) Meeks of Geneva, Chris (Jennifer) Harris of Florida and Melissa (Raymond) Meeks-Lynch of Willard, many nieces, nephews and a large extended family. Shell was preceded in death by her son, Matthew E. Houseknecht in 2009.
