D. Lent Eleanor

Eleanor D. Lent, age 84, of Verona Village and longtime resident of Ovid, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, following an extended illness.

The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm, a funeral service will then follow at the funeral home at 1:00pm, officiated by Pastor Dave Spencer of Seneca Community Church. Prayers of committal will be held at Ovid Union Cemetery.

Eleanor was born in Hayts Corners on July 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Ira and Maggie (Potts) Williamson Sr. She proudly graduated from Romulus High School, and had retired from Willard Psychiatric Center, where she worked as a therapy aide. Eleanor was married to Ernie Lent on November 14, 1953 and together they opened their home to many foster children and family members. When her children left home, she always maintained an open door policy and her home was the focal point of many memories. Her love was also shown to the many cats that found her house and the wild birds in her backyard.

She is survived by her children: Daniel (Jacalyn) Lent of Lodi, Kurt Lent of Oregon, Lester (Anita) Buck of Lodi, Bill (Julie) Deal of Geneva, James Deal of Fayette, Kitty (Kevin) Caraccilo of Seneca Falls and Brenda (David) Warner of North Carolina, grandchildren; Michael (Jeanette) Towner, Melissa (Doug) Wright, Ashley (Zack) Bradford, Ally Askew, Starr Lent, Natalie (Tim) Covert, Heather (Steve) Buck, April (George) Hunt, Natalie (Tim) Covert, Kelly Buck, Steven Buck, Lauren (Andrew) Parker, Nicholas (Kristen) Caraccilo, Kristy (Ted) Kelley, Ryan (Julia) Warner, Tabitha (Ryan) Cagle, and Jeremy Warner, 29 great grandchildren, a brother; Harold (Jan) Williamson, sister in law, Joyce Williamson, niece and special caregiver, Becky Williamson and a host of nieces and newphews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest ‶Ernie″ Lent in 2001 and by her siblings, Ira ‶Bud″ Williamson Jr, Walt Williamson and Helen Bailey.
