D. Covert Karol

Karol D. Covert, age 80, of 9176 Keady Road, passed away at his home on Monday, August 11, 2014 following an extended hospitalization. Karol was born at the family home in Lodi on August 24, 1933, a son of the late Arthur and Anna (Dean) Covert. He graduated from the Interlaken High School, and continued in the family dairy farming business but didn't limit himself to that. He raised beef and pigs and a variety of farm animals and did crop farming as well. He loved farming, mechanics, fast cars, dancing, and ice cream. But, his favorite pastime was spending time with friends and family whether with one or two over coffee or with a large group at gatherings held in the local area. He is survived by his sister, Myrtie (Robert) Sibley of Spring Hill, FL, his very dear friend and partner in farming, Barbara Ruth, a host of nieces and nephews and their families, many friends, and his beloved K-9 companion, Jake. Karol was preceded in death by his siblings, James Covert, Marian Buckholtz, Martha Thomas, Arthur "Wesley" Covert and Floyd Covert. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lodi Rod & Gun Club on Saturday August 16th at 11am. A reception will follow immediately after.
