David E. Coleman

David E. Coleman, age 66, of County Road 129, passed away at his home on Friday, December 23, 2022.

The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00am.  A memorial service will then follow at 11:00, officiated by Pastor Rob Mellgard of Ovid Federated Church. David was born in Waterloo on August 18, 1956, a son of the late Nelson and Bernice (nee Delong) Coleman.  He had worked on the Brodnicki Farm in Romulus for many years and then worked at Zotos and RL Bates Construction in Geneva.  David was an avid deer hunter and life member at South Seneca Sportsmen’s Club, where he volunteered many hours a week, mowing, cleaning and doing maintenance.

He is survived by his daughter, Shay (Scott) Hyer of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Jasmine (Luke) Snyder and Tera Hyer all of Seneca Falls and Jamie “Skid” Hess of Clifton Springs; his sisters, Doris (Bernie) Reilly and Christine Burke all of Romulus and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Eugeania Brewer in 2013, a brother Nelson and sister Roxanna.
