David C. Eggersdorf

David C. Eggersdorf, age 77, of Romulus passed away at home on Monday, April 10, 2023.

In keeping with David’s wishes, burial of his ashes will be private for family. The family asks those that would like to make a contribution in David’s memory to kindly consider the VFW Post 6200, PO Box 1, Ovid, NY 14521.

David was born on February 16, 1946 in Montour Falls, a son of the late Walter and Jane (Burris) Eggersdorf. He was a member of the United States Navy serving from 1967-1971 during the Vietnam War. David worked for 26 years as a general mechanic for the New York State Parks System before working in the Schuyler County Jail as a corrections officer for 12 years. David was a trustee with the VFW Post 6200. He enjoyed assisting with their events and being with people of the Post. A quiet man, David enjoyed spending time with his family and loved getting his hands on a good book related to history.

David is survived by his siblings, Margaret Conklin, Mary Lou Davie, Brenda (Henry) Pinette, and Jerry Snyder; nieces and nephews, Shelley (John) Evans, Kristin Davie, Shawn (Fabio Ricupero) Davie, Bobbi (Mike)Hebert, Wayne Andrews, Fawn (Mike) Updike, and Joseph(Nichole) Pinette; special cousin, Jan Granston; as well as his wife’s family, Shannon Switzer, William Switzer, Donna and Cheryl Starr. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Starr; sister, Gloria Tripp; and brothers in law, Bob Davie and John Dale Conklin.
