Dennis C. Hayes

Dennis C. Hayes, age 72, longtime resident of Ovid and Romulus, passed away peacefully January 10, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Dennis was born in Seneca Falls on April 4, 1952. A born naturalist, Dennis created a lasting legacy by passing on his love of nature to his children, grandchildren and many who knew him. Inspiring us to foster a deep connection with nature and the importance of protecting our environment. He will be sorely missed.

Dennis is survived by a son, Daniel (Heather) Hayes of Watertown, CT and a daughter, Kimberly (Taylor) Partee of Seneca Falls; granddaughters, Aubrea (Jonathan) Newell of Sidney Center, NY, Sara Partee of Seneca Falls, Grace Hayes of Seymour, CT and Ava Hayes of Watertown, CT and great granddaughter, Scarlett “Half Pint” Newell of Sidney Center, NY and a brother, David Hayes of Romulus. He was preceded in death by his mother, D.Joanne (nee Ike) Hayes; father, Charles H. Hayes; brother, Michael “Mikey” Hayes and sisters, Susan and Julie; and his loving wife, Gwendolyn A. (nee Dhondt) Hayes. In the true Dennis and Gwen fashion, they left this earthly world on the same date, two years apart, writing their own end to a love story that knew no bounds.

Services will be held privately by the family.
