E. Tillinghast Blanche

Blanche E. Tillinghast, age 90, of Ovid, passed away at Beechtree Care Center on Friday, January, 8, 2016.

The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid, from Noon to 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1:00pm. Blanche was born in Union County, Pennsylvania on December 22, 1925, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Wise) Nogle. Blanche worked for Willard Psychiatric Center for 31 years, retiring at 55. While working at Willard, Blanche helped her husband and son operate their farm on Brokaw Road in Interlaken until deciding in 1981 that she needed a change. One of her lifelong dreams was to own a bed and breakfast and in 1991 Blanche❜s dream came true with the purchase of the Coryell Estate on Main Street in Ovid. Her and husband, Donald, turned the estate into Tillinghast Bed and Breakfast, which Blanche continued to operate until 2014. Her life was spent working hard, raising her four children, and helping to raise several siblings.

Blanche is survived by three children, Donna Gibson (Jack Bishop) of Dundee, John ‶Jack″ (Sally) Tillinghast of Interlaken, and Sandra (James) Ike of Interlaken; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; five siblings, Jane Sees, Louise VanVleet, Joe, George, and Charlie Nogle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Tillinghast; a daughter, Rita Cazalas; and seven siblings, John, Dorothy, Donald, June, Ralph, Miriam, and Anne.
