E. Ferris Donald

Donald E. Ferris, age 92, lifetime resident of Interlaken passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am to Noon on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 So. Main Street, Ovid. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at Noon at the funeral home. Prayers of Committal will follow the service at Lake View Cemetery in Interlaken. Don was born in Ovid on February 16, 1926, a son of the late Edgar and Jessie (Porter) Ferris. He operated his own dairy farm for many years before taking a job at Dalrymple Vineyards where he worked for 26 years. Don loved working outdoors, caring for his flower gardens, and riding his beloved John Deere lawn mower.

Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Constance Ferris; daughter, Marlene (Mark) Stein; three grandchildren, Rusty (Sarah Smith) Kerns, Ashley (Kevin Mueller) Stein, and Leah (Anthony) Hernandez; two step grandchildren, Alissa (Dave) Knorr and Jess Stein; and three great grandchildren, Quinton Paul, Andre Owen, and Mila Faith. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son, Paul Ferris in 2014.
