Earl Warne Jr.

Earl ‶Junior″ Warne Jr., age 92, of Penn Yan passed away at Geneva General Hospital on Friday, February 3, 2017.

Services will be held privately at Covert Funeral Home with prayers of committal at Mount Green Cemetery in Romulus. Earl was born in Romulus on August 27, 1924, a son of the late Earl and Ellen (Snook) Warne Sr. He attended Romulus High School through the 12th grade, he was married to Doris Olsowske on September 27, 1946. He then began a long career with the NYS Dept. of Transportation, retiring as road foreman in the mid 1980❜s. Together with his wife and brothers, they operated the family crop farm in Fayette.

Earl is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Warne of Penn Yan; daughter, Brenda Warne (Norman Robinson) of Penn Yan; granddaughter in law, Lisa Wimmer of Penn Yan; and several nieces, nephews, and his wife❜s family. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a grandson, C. Scott Wimmer in 2016; his brothers, Paul and Fred; and sisters, Nita, Stella, and Thelma.
