Elinor I. Goslicki, age 84, longtime resident of Ann Street in Ovid, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, following a brief hospitalization.
Prayers of committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Ovid on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00am. Elinor was born in Waterloo on August 13, 1939, a daughter of the late Edward and Grace (nee Thomas) Kuney, growing up in the area known as Kuneytown. She worked at Seneca Army Depot for 26 years, and then at Quik & Easy, Ovid Big M and then for the Seneca County Office of the Aging meal program, retiring at the age of 83. Elinor loved to bake, especially pies and Christmas cookies, knitting, playing cards and her many rescued beagles.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Baker and William Goslicki; nephews; Henry Brown, Thomas (Danielle Warner) Brown, Edward (Christine Williams) Brown and a niece, Joanne Brown; a sister, Doris Devlin and her children, and neighbor, Tom Robinson. Elinor was preceded in death by her husband of 61years, Chester in 2021; and a brother Donald Kuney.
