Embrose Dugas

Embrose A. Dugas, age 89, former longtime resident of the Bixby Homes, walked into his sunset on Sunday, September 6, 2020.

Embrose was born in Jeanerette, LA on July 1, 1931, a son of the late Embrose and Julia (Landor) Dugas Sr.  He proudly served his country in the US Air Force, from 1951 to 1953.  He had worked in in sugar factory in Louisiana and made his way north many years later. While living in the Ovid area for more than 20 years, he enjoyed bowling, golf, dancing and basketball, and had been an active participant in the Golden Age games for several years.

He is survived by his daughters; Shelley Dugas-Thomas of Corning and Julia Dugas of New Paltz, his grandchildren; Thomas, Naomi, Erica, Julia, and brother; Lloyd Dugas of Waco, TX. He is preceded in death by his long-term partner; Erica, and brothers; Albert and Robert Dugas.

Committal services will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Sampson Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Romulus.
