Harold F. Jennings, age 74, of 2196 Cayuga Street, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Harold as born in Ithaca on June 27, 1944, a son of the late George F. and Vernell (Megin) Jennings. Harold had a strong work ethic, and had been employed at the former Sylvania factory in Seneca Falls, had been an over the road truck driver, and until his health declined, had driven Amish to area markets. He loved hunting, fishing and farming, and the family home on Route 89, which was lost to a devastating fire in 2017. Harold was a member of the Varick United Methodist Church and a member of the Army National Guard for 6 years during the Vietnam Era. He was a kind caretaker to many animals and truly loved his family, of which many times there were multiple generations living under one roof.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue Jennings; his daughters, Laura L. Smith of Romulus, Dawn M. Cornish of Rushville, AL and Tina L. Jennings of Romulus; his grandchildren, Alexander (Kristen), Amanda (Daniel), Liam (Chelsi), Tabitha (Dylan), Leigha (Joseph); great grandchildren, Payton, Arieana, Daniel Jr., Maddie, Riley, Timothy, Sebastian, Isaiah, and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Jennings and by his siblings, Roger E. Jennings and Bernice Bush.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Varick United Methodist Church in the summer of 2019. Specific details will be published prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Harold❜s memory to the Beverly Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
