F. Hosmer Lyle

Lyle F. ‶Whitey″ Hosmer Jr., age 53 of Caneadea passed away at Seneca Nursing and Rehab Center on Sunday, February 5, 2017.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 to Noon on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the House of Prayer Fellowship Church, 908 South Bolivar Road, Bolivar, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at Noon at the church with Pastor Roy Elliot officiating. The family asks those that would like to make a donation in Whitey❜s memory to kindly consider the American Cancer Society or a local hospice facility.

Whitey was born in Wellsville on June 11, 1963, a son of the late Lyle and Phyllis (Stickel) Hosmer Sr. He graduated from Belfast Central School. A truck driver for a majority of his life, Whitey worked for North American Moving Company hauling exhibits, hauled sheet rock in Virginia, and was most recently a milk truck driver. Whitey remained a child at heart, always having a light hearted spirt and happy soul. He loved spending time with family and had a countless number of friends who he frequently kept in touch with over the phone.

He is survived by his siblings, Laurie Campbell, Eurriel Hosmer (Marty Brzoska), Jay Hosmer, and Tina (Robert) Jansen; nieces and nephews, Taylor Campbell, Daniel, Kassandra, Emma, and Brandon Hosmer, and Sabrina and Sara Jansen; stepmother, Juanita Hosmer; and many friends and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, Whitey was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
