Florence E. McComb

Florence E. McComb, age 84, longtime resident of Rock River Road, died at Cayuga Medical Center on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

She was born in Portland Point on September 16, 1940, one of 9 children born to James E. and Cora Reagin. She was married to Gerald McComb of Interlaken when she was 16, and they eventually made their home on Rock River Road. They were married for 56 years, until Gerald’s death. Florence had been a custodian at South Seneca Schools for more than 30 years. Upon their retirement, she and Gerald wintered in Largo, Florida where they were active in the Elks Lodge and lots of “retired folks” activities.

Florence is survived by her sons; Richard of Freeville and Keith of Arkansas, her grandchildren; Jared, Rory and Brianna, along with the extended families of her siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald in 2013 and by her siblings; Paul, Scott, Terrance, James, Charles and Steven Reagin, Martha Reagin, Patricia Shettle, Mary Hildreth and Denise Walker.
