G. Nichols Lawrence

Lawrence G. Nichols, age 71, longtime resident of Prospect Street, passed away at the Wayne County Nursing Home on Friday, November 30, 2018.
Interment will be held privately at Hope Cemetery in South Corning.

Larry was born in Corning, New York on April 29, 1947, a son of the late H. Lawrence and Thelma (Folnsbee) Nichols. He was a 1965 graduate of West High School and received his associates degree from Corning Community College in 1969. Larry was married to Deborah G. Bodine on August 15, 1970. Prior to a debilitating stroke at the age of 29, he had been a mental health group leader at the Meadow House in Ithaca.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debbie of Willard; his children, Michael (Christy) Nichols of Horseheads, Michelle (Roger) Blaisdell of Holiday, Florida and Jennifer (Jon) Dufour of Ovid; his granchildren, Patrick (Carly) Nichols, Alex (Kaylee) Smith, Ethan Smith, Joshua Smith, Ian, Samuel and Anna Dufour and Nathan Nichols; her great granddaughters, Devin Marie Smith and Alena Lanich; and a brother, Curtis (Susan) Nichols of Vermont.
