Velma Janne Williams, 90, of 3483 Potter Road, Interlaken, was led into the Kingdom of God by a chorus of angelic autoharps on Thursday, February 16, 2017.
Janne was born in Perry City, New York on December 5, 1926 to Claude and Bess ‶Betty″ Percy. She married the love of her life, Wallace E. Williams in 1947.
Janne dedicated her life to the Lord and was a member of the Baptist Church of Interlaken and the Child Evangelism Fellowship. She volunteered as a teacher with the Interlaken Christian School , where dozens of children adopted her as their ‶Grammy.″
A lover of crafting, Janne was a master seamstress, and could often be found sewing dresses for her missionary friends to distribute to under-privileged children. Janne was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Wallace E. Williams, her son, Darrell Williams, daughter, Dani Holford and son-in-law, Donny Holford and brother-in-law, Fred Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Yanowiak of South Carolina and son, Dee (Denise) Williams of Interlaken. 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She found comfort in her final days through the care of Dee and Denise, her grandchildren, Charity (Mark) Couch, Amanda (Jeff) Hopkins, Casey (Meredith) Williams, Dylan Williams, Jason (Anne-Marie) Williams, special friend, Shirley Wheeler, and her dedicated aides, Betty Jo and Amy.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21 at the First Baptist Church of Interlaken, 8414 North Main Street, Interlaken. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00pm at the church.
