Gorski Ruberta

Ruberta L. Gorski, age 94, of Conifer Village, passed away at Geneva General Hospital on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm today, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Covert Funeral Home of Ovid. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Ovid. Ruberta was born in Eggersville, NY on December 22, 1923, one of 9 children born to Rubert and Bertha (Jewell) Davis. She attended schools in Youngstown, NY and left her senior year to work at Ft. Niagara, where she met her future husband, Stanley, at the start of WWII. She moved to Ovid in 1946, and had worked at many locales, but she was very proud of her volunteer work as a grandparent in the Head Start Program.

She is survived by her daughters, Darla (Richard) Ross of Interlaken, Deleah (Frank) Casale of Ovid, Doreen Siler of Greensboro, NC, and Ruberta Jean ‶Berd″ (Robert) Lamounette of Jacksonville, FL, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Ruberta was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley in 1992, her daughter Diana in 2007 and by her siblings.
