Grace E. (Ball) Baker

Grace E. Baker, age 97, longtime resident of the Ovid area, passed away at Geneva Living Center on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Grace was born in Seneca Falls on September 24, 1925. She had a long career at Willard Psychiatric Center, where she worked as a mental health therapy aide, and then worked as a home health aide after her retirement.  “Gracie” had a colorful sense of humor and genuine sparkle in her eye when engaged in conversation with her family and friends.

Grace had six children; Fred Stickane of Lansing, Sandy, Diane Oaks of Waterloo, Marian Page of Pennsylvania, Betty Lee Moon and William Moon of Ovid, many grandchildren and their families. Gracie also had wonderful friends that remained close to her throughout her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Baker in 2013 and by her brother, Kenneth and sisters, Ruth and Bertha.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street in Ovid.  A funeral service will then follow at 11:00am, officiated by Pastor Rob Mellgard of the Ovid Federated Church.  Prayers of committal will be held at Ovid Union Cemetery.
