Helen J. (White) Lewin

Elk Grove Village, IL – Helen J. Lewin, age 85, former longtime resident of Cypress Lane, passed away in Holland, MI on Friday, December 24, 2021.

Helen was born in Lodi, NY on January 27, 1936, a daughter of the late George and Laura (Locke) White. She was married to Thomas Donald Lewin in Ovid, NY on June 2, 1956. They lived in Leesburg, VA and then settled in Elk Grove Village in 1972.  She had worked as a retail clerk for 41 years, at K-Mart, and then at Marshall Fields. In addition to raising her family, she was a member of the Methodist Church, Senior Center, Elk Grove Museum and the Red Hatters Club.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Beth) of Holland, MI and Joseph of Chicago; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Carrie), Clinton (Amber) and Sarah; her great grandchildren, Evelyn, Meredith, Nora and Brooks; her siblings Gerald of Columbia SC, Jean McWhorter of Ovid NY, Verna White of Syracuse NY,  Donald White of Interlaken NY and Glen White of Lodi NY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Donald and by her brother Merle.
