Howard Snyder Gail

Gail (Howard) Snyder, 82, of Ovid, NY died Saturday, June 16th at Cayuga Ridge Nursing Center in Ithaca after a brief battle of lung cancer.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, June 20th, at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street in Ovid. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 21st at the Ovid Federated Church, with Pastor Rob Mellgard officiating, prayers of committal will be held at Ovid Union Cemetery. Gail was a graduate of Cortland State Teacher❜s College in Physical Education. Gail taught Physical Education at Hancock Central School for 4 years, and then taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades for 30 years at South Seneca Central School. She is survived by her children, Douglas (Donna Segura) Snyder of Sunnyvale, CA, Tammi (Jeffrey) Hanson of Cleveland, OH, Ronald ‶Tiger″ (Lisa) Snyder of Knoxville, TN, Kenneth (Marcia Simon) Snyder of Gaithersburg, MD, and Terri (Rick) Soltis of Saline, MI, sisters Jean Gibson and Jo Currier, 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 niece, 1 nephew, and former husband Raymond Snyder. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Rocelia (Stilwell) Howard, and brother, Ivory Howard.
