Christopher J. Rosbaugh, age 42, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
Chris was born on January 3, 1974 in Waterloo, NY, the only son of Timothy J. and Valerie J. (Weaver) Rosbaugh. His family travelled with the military, and settled in Bloomfield, NY, where he graduated from high school. He showed a keen interest in wine making, and studied at Corning Community College, and served his apprenticeship under some renowned local winemakers. His family purchased a farm in Hector, and Tickle Hill Winery was born. Under his guidance and expert winemaking skills, Tickle Hill has grown into a 42 acre estate winery. They have won many gold medals and awards in local and regional events, however, Chris❜s finest moment came when his Cayuga White won a silver medal in California❜s Napa Valley, competing with the nation❜s top wineries. He was a ‶gentle giant″ and loved his quiet farm on the hill, which he called ‶Bassett Ranch″, taking in all of its nature and splendor.
Chris is survived by his parents, Tim and Valerie Rosbaugh of Hector; his fiancé and best friend, Wendy Whiffen; a sister, Amy Jo White of Fairport and her children, Brooke L. White and Timo J. Rivera; his grandmother, Edna Rosbaugh of Geneva, and Wendy❜s grandchildren, Brylie Whiffen, Lexi Phelps and Tru Kane and by a large extended family.
Graveside services will be held privately at West Lodi Cemetery. A Memorial Reception will be held at Tickle HIll Winery on Saturday, November 12th at 2:00pm to commemorate Chris❜s life.
