James A. Reagin

James A. Reagin Jr., age 59, died at Geneva General Hospital on Saturday, January 13, 2024 following a very recent cancer diagnosis.

Jim was born in Cortland on December 18, 1964, a son of the late James and Irene Reagin Sr.  He was a 1985 graduate of South Seneca High School and had a long career at Venture Vineyards in Lodi.  He then worked briefly at Zotos in Geneva and Standing Stone Vineyard in Hector, before settling into his job of several years at Ovid Big M.  It was there that Jim was a welcomed presence, always jumping in to assist customers and staff alike.  His gentle demeanor and pleasant helpfulness was greatly appreciated by all who encountered him.  He formed a special bond with his Aunt Sharon, and they could be seen on their daily walks in the village, rain or shine.

Jim is survived by his aunt, Sharon Reagin of Ovid; his sisters, Cheryl Oberle of PA, Suzanne Reagin of Ithaca, and Tamara Gavens and her daughters Kaitlyn and Courtney all of Greece,, NY; his cousin, Kelly (Dewey) Truax of Ovid and a very large extended family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Reagin.

A Memorial Service will be held at Seneca Community Church in Romulus, officiated by Pastor Dave Spencer, at 11:00am on Monday, January 22, 2024. A reception hosted by his friends will then follow at the church. Interment will be held privately at Ovid Union Cemetery with his parents.
