James L. "Jim" Taylor

James L. “Jim” Taylor, lifetime resident of Lodi area, died at Geneva General Hospital on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Jim was born in Valois on August 24, 1935, the only son of the late Clarence and Helen (nee Vieley) Taylor.  He proudly served his country in the USArmy from 1958 to 1960 and continued his service at Seneca Army Depot as the director of transportation.  Jim was a member of the Lodi Fire Department and spearheaded the annual clam bake fundraiser. He was proud of his Lodi community, supported local businesses and held great regard for his circle of friends.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Jean Smith of Newark, Virginia (Mario) Kozinczak of Lyons, Janet Smith of Newark, Barbara (James) Eaton of Macedon and Robert (Cindy) Smith of Marion and their families and by the extended family of his wife, Jane; and by his faithful companion, “Dingo”. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jane in 2021 and by his sister Eleanor Smith.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at West Lodi Cemetery at 11:00am on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
