Judith "Judy" (Tuthill) Barkee

Judith A. Barkee, age 75, longtime resident of 8759 Route 89, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, December 20, 2021.

Judy was born in Sayre, PA on April 18, 1946, a daughter of the late Fred and Shirley (Taylor) Tuthill. She graduated from Vernon Verona Sherrill High School after attending Trumansburg High School. Judy then graduated from Cazenovia College. She started her working career at the OBGYN in Ithaca and then Trumansburg Family Health. Her love of books led her to become the Director of the Interlaken Library and then Director of the Ulysses Philomathic Library. Judy also volunteered at the Ulysses Historical Society.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Doug; her sons, Matt (Chris) Barkee and John (Alison) Barkee all of Interlaken; her grandchildren; Taylor, Samantha, Calvin, and Dougie.  Judy is also survived by her sister, Cynthia (Earl) Livering of Ocala FL; several nieces, nephews, and her close friends.

A private interment ceremony will be held at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, and a Time of Remembrance will be held for family and friends in the late Spring of 2022.
