Farmington

Judy A. Notebaert, age 75, of Farmington, formerly of Willard passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. The family asks those that would like to make a contribution in her memory to kindly consider Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Street, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Born on September 19, 1949, in Seneca Falls, Judy was the daughter of the late Harold and Ruthanna (Alger) Potts. She graduated from Ovid High School and devoted 38 and a half years of her life to working as a mental health therapy aide at Willard Psychiatric Center, and later, Elmira Psychiatric Center, retiring in 2004.

An avid reader, she spent countless hours immersed in books, exploring new worlds and ideas. Her love for animals was evident in the gentle way she nurtured creatures both great and small. Judy was also known for her culinary talents, a great cook who filled her home with delightful aromas and shared delicious meals with her family. She enjoyed the serenity of taking drives, knitting and crocheting gifts for loved ones, and indulging her sweet tooth with chocolate.

Judy’s love for her family was immeasurable. She is survived by three children, Corey Potts, Craig Coonradt, and Ashley (Bryan) Notebaert, who will forever cherish the memories of their amazing mother; siblings, Debbie (Gary) Covert, Terry Potts, and Randy (Marie) Potts; and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Judy’s devoted caregivers, Heather Baldwin, Geisha Robinson, Heather Gigliotti, and the countless other helpers who provided comfort and care, allowing her to remain at home.

Judy's legacy of love, compassion, and her undeniable spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of her children. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a luminous presence in their lives.
