Judy A. (Westervelt) Poth

Judy A. Poth, age 81, lifetime resident of the area, died following a brief hospitalization at Geneva General Hospital on Friday, July 14, 2023.

The family will receive friends at Covert Funeral Home on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 10:00am to Noon. A memorial service will then be held at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Rob Mellgard of the Ovid Federated Church, followed by prayers at the West Lodi Cemetery. The family will then host a reception at the Lodi Fire House, following the service. Judy was born in Waterloo on September 18, 1941, the only daughter of the late Paul and Arleta (nee Swanson) Westervelt. She was a graduate of Ovid Central School, where she then worked as the secretary to the librarian for many years, retiring from the Ovid campus. Judy was married to Larry Poth on May 27, 1960. She truly enjoyed her retirement and spent 24 winters in Wildwood, FL. Judy was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed reading, crafts and all forms of needlework. She was also a member of the Seneca County Textile Guild.

She is survived by her children; Renee (Michael) Caron of Elbridge, NY, Pamela (Timothy) Everett of Liverpool, NY and Brian (Faith) Poth of Lodi, NY; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; a brother Rudy (Karyn) Westervelt of California, a sister in law, JoAnn Westervelt of Romulus and several nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Larry in 2023; her brother, Paul “Jerry” Westervelt in 2022; and great granddaughter, Makenzie Grace.
