Keiko “Kay” Budd, age 88, former longtime resident of Ovid Street in Seneca Falls, passed away at Geneva Living Center, following an extended illness.
A Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor Floyd Marsh, will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Harvest Field Baptist Church, 2382 Leader Road in Fayette. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the church in Kay’s memory.
Kay was born in Tokyo, Japan on June 13, 1933, a daughter of the late Sasuke and Toyo Kanamori. She was married to her husband while he was stationed overseas and moved to New York. She had worked at the Canoga Diner, the Johnson Home for Ladies in Seneca Falls and lastly as a CNA at Seneca Nursing Home in Waterloo. Kay was a member of the Seneca Falls Women’s League and volunteered at for the American Heart Association and Canoga Fire Department, Calvary Chapel nursery, and helped to prepare meals for the FL Christian School. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and everyone loved her peanut butter cookies, she enjoyed crafts, crocheting and sewing. Kay found it very important to teach her children and grandchildren the art of Origami and making sushi.
Kay is survived by her children; Robert (Christine) Budd of Lodi, Dorothy (Chester) Haines of Temple, PA, Deborah (Christopher) North of Interlaken and William (Denise) Budd of Troy, NY and by 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Akira and Mitsuo, her sisters, Sayoko and Reiko, her grandson, Nicholas Budd and great granddaughter, Ellis Seiders, and by her best friends, Sadako Kluge and Dorothy Sember.
