KelliJo Knittle, 59, a longtime resident of Geneva, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. Her passing was due to complications from an auto accident in January.
Born in Geneva on June 13, 1965, KelliJo was the daughter of Thomas J. and Beverly (Swick) Knittle. She dedicated her career to serving people with disabilities as a therapy aide for New York State in group home settings.
KelliJo's vibrant personality and joyful presence will be deeply missed by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Martin A. Jasniewski II of Liverpool; her siblings, Tomilyn (Jim) Knittle Petris of Gillett, PA, Scott Knittle of Waterloo, Kristen (Bucky) Cowan Jacot of Garner, NC, and Michelle (Shawn) Cowan Hall of Seneca Falls; her father, Art Cowan of Ovid; her aunt, Kay Poth; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her devoted companion, Rich Argus of Geneva. She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Knittle, at a very young age, and her mother, Bev, in 2022.
In accordance with KelliJo's wishes, a private memorial will be held by her family. Additionally, a celebration of her life will take place on July 13th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Vista at Seneca Lake Resorts. Family and friends are all invited to join the celebration. Please honor her memory by sharing a bright smile, kind words, and an act of kindness with someone in need.
