L. Mccarthy Eleanor

Eleanor Loretta (Giboo) McCarthy, age 92, of 5557 Route 96, died on April 21, 2018 at Geneva General Hospital following complications of surgery.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at White Cemetery in Rushford, NY.

Eleanor was born in New Hudson Township on March 17, 1926, a daughter of Louis and Hazel (Hibbard) Giboo. She grew up in the rural areas of Cuba, NY before moving to Romulus 65 years ago. In earlier years, she provided care for children in her home and her life centered around the care of her family. She enjoyed country music, gardening and watching the many birds at her back yard feeders.

She is survived by her children; Patricia McCarthy of North Carolina, Linda (Tom) Spike of Dansville, NY, Ronald (Nancy) McCarthy and Bonnie McCarthy all of Romulus; her grandchildren, Donald, Brian, and Samuel McCarthy, Julie and Troy Spike, and Sharon Stahoviak; five great grandchildren and one great grandson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
