L. Russell Mary

Mary L. Russell, age 100, passed away peacefully at her home on Depot Road on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

There will be a Celebration of her life on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 9:30am at Christ Church in Willard, as part of the regular service of Holy Eucharist. Prayers of committal will be held privately at Ovid Union Cemetery.

Mary was born on November 14, 1916 in Spencerville, Ohio, the only daughter of the late Carl J. and Lillian (Ferrington) Neal. She and her husband Lloyd operated the former Ovid Auto Service on Main Street in Ovid for many years prior to their retirement. Mary was an active member Christ Church in Willard, and had held various offices in the church in addition to be the organist.

She is survived by her children, John L. (Melinda) Russell of Ovid, and Mary Lou (Alan) Caster of Newark; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1992, by a son, Dan V. Russell in 1988 and by a daughter, Jacqueline Snyder in 2002, and by her brothers, Victor, Vincent and Vernon Neal.
