L. Ike Ruth

Ruth L. Ike, age 89, of Lodi, died at home on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 South Main Street, in Ovid. A Funeral Service will then immediately follow at 3:00pm. Prayers of committal will be held at Lake View Cemetery. Ruth was born in the Town of Covert on August 30, 1928 the only daughter of the late Ezra and Esther (Houseworth) Champion. She worked at Willard Psychiatric Center as a staff attendant for a short time, before she started her long career as a stay at home Mom. Their home on Parmenter Road was the gathering place for all of the family and holiday parties.

Ruth is survived by four children, Robert (Tina) Ike of Interlaken, Rebecca Evans of Ovid, Roger (Kimberly) Ike of Interlaken, and Rodney Ike of Enfield; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a very large extended family. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, R. Owen Ike; a son, Ronald Ike; and brothers, Cecil, Arthur, and Richard Champion.
