Larry G. Poth

Larry G. Poth, age 81, lifetime resident of the area, died under hospice care in Wildwood, FL on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Rob Mellgard will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the West Lodi Cemetery. The family will then host a reception at the Lodi Fire House, following the service. Larry was born in Watertown, NY on July 20, 1941, a son of the late Loren and Leona (nee Coon) Poth. He graduated from Ovid Central School in 1959 and was married to Judy Westervelt May 27, 1960. He began his career in state service at Willard Psychiatric Center, working as a tinsmith and roofer, and went on to work at Sampson State Park, retiring in 1996.  He truly enjoyed his retirement and spent 24 winters in Wildwood, FL. Larry loved nature, hunting, puzzles and manicuring his grounds at home in Lodi.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Judy and his children; Renee (Michael) Caron of Elbridge, NY, Pamela (Timothy) Everett of Liverpool, NY  and Brian (Faith) Poth of Lodi, NY ; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his 4 brothers, Glenn, Richard, Marshall and Gaylord and by 3 sisters, Lucille, Norine and Donna and great granddaughter, MacKenzie.
