“ OVID - Lloyd F. Rose, age 62, died at Soldier’s and Sailor’s Hospital in Penn Yan on Saturday June 3, 2023. Lloyd was born in Elmira on June 10, 1960. While in high school, Lloyd discovered a life long passion for football. Many of his friends and teammates knew him as “Rouser”. After completion of high school, he went on to earn an associate’s degree from Hillsborough Community College. While living in Florida for many years, he started his own business as a general contractor, specializing in home construction and renovations throughout the Pasco county area. He retired to Omaha, Nebraska to be nearer his children and had recently returned to New York.
He is survived by his children; Joseph Rose of Parker, CO, Michael, Kristina, and Jacob Rose of Omaha, NE; their mother, Karen Rose of Omaha, NE; his mother, Terry Rose Smith of Ovid; siblings, Mary Castle of Hamlin, Cindy Wyckoff of Parker, CO, his step brother, Christopher Smith of Marion, a large extended family, and his companion, Darlene Huff. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Rose and Jean Trimm, and his step brother Frederick Smith.
In accordance with Lloyd’s wishes, there will be no services. His children will arrange for his ashes to be placed in his favorite places.
