M. Delooze Doris

Doris M. DeLooze, age 69, of 1991 County Road 139, died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Sunday, March 18, 2018 after a brief battle with lung cancer.

Doris was born in Cooperstown, NY on June 4, 1948, the only daughter of the late Rev. Charles B. and Phyllis Elizabeth (Tudor) Capper. She graduated from High School in Edwardsville, PA. Her life was based on serving others. Doris had worked for the Delevan family for several years, and as a caretaker for the late Helen With. She then worked at the Special Children❜s Center, and most recently at the Varick Campus of the Hillside Children❜s Center.

Doris was an active member of the American Legion Post #463 Auxiliary, as well as the Seneca County, NY American Legion Ladies❜ Auxiliary. She was an avid reader, enjoyed making friends all over the globe via Facebook and related games, spending time with her four-legged companion, Quincy, and loved collecting frogs and gnomes.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa L. (Kent) Schod of Orrtanna, PA, and Elizabeth A. DeLooze of Ovid, and a granddaughter, Grace Elisabeth Schod; her brothers, Robert T. Capper of Corry, PA and David W. Capper of Glenella, Queensland, Australia. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Willis A. DeLooze in 2015, and by a brother, Charles Capper.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid. Prayers of committal will be held privately at West Lodi Cemetery.
