M. Maccheyne Eileen

d. July 22, 2017

Eileen M. MacCheyne, age 71, of Interlaken, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Seneca Nursing and Rehab surrounded by family after a courageous fourteen month battle with cancer.

Eileen was born on July 20, 1946 in Ithaca, the oldest of eight children to Donald and Grace (Ike) Terry. She was born to be a mother and always put her children and grandchildren before herself. Affectionately referred to as ‶Mimi″ she enjoyed attending numerous school, scouting and sporting events in support of her grandchildren. Her family dedication was evident in the assistance she provided to other family members. Her expertise in shopping allowed her to not only shop for herself but several other family members to ensure everyone got the best deals. The Queen of Camping, Eileen was always prepared for any situation and often coordinated meals for up to 40 people at a time. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, loved to play bingo, and helped behind the counter at Jim and Georgia❜s Diner. Throughout all situations in Eileen❜s life, both good and bad, she remained positive and always had a smile on her face.

Eileen is survived by her husband of 51 years, George MacCheyne; two daughters, Denise (Keith) Ernst and Julie (John) Bub; six grandchildren, Theresa, Robert, and Donald Ernst, and Brittani, Benjamin, and Macy Bub; mother, Grace Terry; seven siblings, Carol Snedeker, Raymond (Sue) Terry, David (Janie) Terry, Allan Terry, Bruce (Kathy) Terry, Paul (Brigid) Terry, and Kevin Terry; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and brothers and sisters in law. Eileen was preceded in death by her father, Donald Terry.
